Presenting our
the miniature horse of the past, the present & the future
Son Spun Miniature Horses began in 2004. In the past, we have had Paint/Pinto horses, half Arabs, and, more recently, Lippitt Morgans. Due to our ages (we are retired) and health problems, we decided to look into the miniature horses. After much searching, "picking brains" and studying, we decided to get something a little different, but with great attributes. A gentle, friendly Disposition was and still is, a main consideration. Correct Conformation was important because we were interested in driving and showing. Conformation will also always be a top priority. We decided on the rare, lovely Falabella horse. Our first full Falabella was an Appaloosa stallion. We have decided to concentrate on the more refined, Anglo-Arabian type of Falabella. All of our miniature horses are registered in FMHA or FBR, AMHA and AMHR.We have found that the Falabella is just what the doctor ordered for us. Thanks to God, the doctors and the little horses, our lives are quite full again.
We would like to give a special thanks to Laurie Stevens of Toyland Miniature Horses who has spent so much time teaching us about the Falabella horses and about miniature horses in general. We are also grateful for the horses that she has bred and sold to us that have enriched our lives so much. Another person that we can not thank enough for all of the help and expertise that she has given to us is Brenda Plass of Double B Farm in Indiana.
A special thanks goes to Vivian and Clint Sparks of Southern Starr Seven Ranch.
